Transport department officials were expected to arrive here from Moncton, N.B., today to investigate a helicopter crash that claimed the lives of four men Thursday.
RCMP identified the victims as the pilot, John REVENBOER, 40... and passengers Ralph DOUCET, Allaine BURSEY and Lambert LESSARD, all of Sept-Iles, Que.
Police said the helicopter crashed in a remote section of Labrador near Embar, about 95 miles south of here, and started a forest fire along the Quebec Northshore and Labrador Railway line. Weather at the time was reported clear.
The helicopter, believed to ahve been on a survey flight from Sept-Iles, was owned by Dominion Helicopter of Toronto.
RCMP said the fire destroyed about two acres of woodland before being extinguished by members of the Newfoundland forestry service. The helicopter wreckage was completely burned.
A police spokesman said the crash is believed to have been sighted by a passing train and the information sent to Sept-Iles. He was buried after 10 Aug 1972 in ?North Bay, Ontario, CANADA?.
